Read the chapter entitled “The Church and The Scientists” in Story of Christianity by David Bentley Hart on pages 288-293.
I would like you to write a short paper (at least 5 paragraphs) explaining the Christian beliefs and education of Galileo Galilei, his discoveries and contributions to science, and the Catholic church’s response. Finally, I’d like to know if you think that science and faith are able to work together or if they are in contradiction and why.
You may use any type and number of resources, but please cite them. Please type this and put it in homework drop or email it to me. It will be due on Friday, April 17th.

Can we only use the book or can we use other resources?
Use any resources you have. That will mostly be online right now unless you happen to have a book on Galileo lying around your house.
