Time to Learn

Why Christian School?

I grew up as a public school kid and I have several family members who were or are public school teachers. So when my wife and I had kids, I was a bit surprised to find out that my wife wanted to send the kids to a private Christian school. The debate came down to safety and opportunity for growth versus intentional living and the opportunity to be salt and light. I recognized that my children are not little missionaries just because they are my kids and that they needed to actually know what they believe before they should be expected to go preach to others.

Now, years later, my wife and I are both teachers at the same private school with our kids and I’ve found myself asking the question again, “Why Christian School?” Our Children are performing well in school and have all expressed faith in Christ. Is it now time for them to enter the Public school system, or is there something inherently superior to a Christian school? So let me know below, why have you chosen to put your kids in public school or on the other hand, why did you decide to send your children to public school. There is no judgment here. I just want to learn.
