I have heard of a lot of religions but I’ve never heard of the numa I looked it up and I found out that it’s really just about the Roman people
jesus was dorn in the reign of augustus and died in the reign of tiberius. in the 4th century the most important sees came from rome, constantinople, alexandrea, and antioch. the church took 2 i deas from rome, the goverment and made her own idea of old roman unity
I read a story about Polycarp. His death is really cool. The Romans tried burning him but the fire billowed away from him. So the Romans stabbed him. A dove flew out of the wound and so much blood came out that it put out the flames. Also before he died, he prayed for every one he had ever met.
We have a book about Polycarp!! It is called Polycarp of Smyrna by Sinclair B. Ferguson. I agree with Calista. His death is cool. The church used two old roman ideas: the government and the idea of unity (the church made its own idea of that).
Paul was born in Tarsus so he was a roman citizen. The Christians met in secret so suspicion rose against them. Trajan would only persecute Christians.
under neros, Domitian and in the third century under Diocletian, the persecutions were expressly fierce and cruel. in spite of persecuting the christians grew in numbers. the controversy was settled, and as a result of the council the Nicene Creed was drawn up, a statement of what the Chirch held to be essential in Christian belife.
The first group of Christians was a small uneducated group. Later on it started growing. Rome did not ike when they didn’t offer sacrifices to the old gods, and when they had meetings in secret they thought they were playing something
Jesus was born in 1 AD under the reign of Nero and died under the reign of Tiberius in around 30 AD. Paul was a Roman citizen even though he had a Jewish background. In the first-third centuries, Christians were people of low estate, but after a while the rich and educated became Christians too (not all of them, of course). As the Christian domination rose in power the government started getting suspicious and the Christians started to be persecuted.
i learned that there are no real beginnings and endings of periods of history, i also learned that jesus christ was born in the reign of augustus and crucified when tiberius was emperor, jesus’s teachings were spread in the roman world by his followers, especially a man named paul.at first christian were left alone by government so long as they remained good citizens
