  1. I enjoyed the quiz. I have a question, though. So, the date on the website said the 16 and I did the activity on the 18. Was this the correct thing? Because I didn’t see anything else. Thank you! Stay safe

  2. I forgot to write what I learned! I had no clue that Cicero was so influential with Roman Religion. Fun Fact: Cicero means chickpea! I also didn’t know that Janus was the main god of the Romans until they decided Jupiter was better.

    1. Cicero wrote about the origins of religion and is the one that tells us that Numa Pompilius was the origin of most of the roots of Roman religion. Glad you learned something! Stay safe out there!

  3. I knew that Janus was the Roman god of Beginnings and Endings, but I didn’t know that he was super important to the Romans. I also didn’t know that the Roman youths had to make a sacrifice to the god Jupiter. Does the phrase “age of manhood” mean a certain age or the age when boys became mature enough to pass as men?

    1. Most scholars think that it would have been around the age of 16. They would have been promoted at the feast of Liberalia.

  4. I thought that the Romans copied the Greek’s mythology but the book made it sound like they made it up themselves. I thought Numa was a weird god that I had never heard of and then I saw the Numa Pompilius and understood. I also never knew Vesta was so important to the Romans. Also, is there a way a find out what I got wrong on the quiz?

    1. Much of it moved over from the Greeks with name changes. Numa was the 2nd King after Romulus. You got a 100 on the quiz. There was just a spelling difference.

  5. I found it interesting that the household ties were the most important out of all of them. I would think that ties that gave protection, food, or friendship would be more important.

  6. I didnt know that when a roman youth reaches the age of manhood he goes up to the capitol and offers sacrafices to jupiter.
